Life is both stressful and hard, and joyful and vibrant. During times of increased stress, recognizing the joy can be difficult. Whether stress is related to relationships, work/college, parenting, transitioning to more independence, self-esteem, perfectionism, or other difficult life transitions, it can be beneficial to have a professional to sort out how to manage this stress and learn from this time.
Treatment with Dr. Sproch often begins by clearly identifying treatment goals and matching treatment to an approach that feels right for the change that you would like to make. We evaluate thoughts, feelings, and behaviors related to your stress. Treatment for stress and transitions typically involves offering a compassionate approach to evaluating what is and is not working for you now, what you would like things to look like in the future, and using therapy to help close that gap. Specific behavioral and cognitive strategies are typically applied and you have the opportunity to experiment with what does and does not work for you outside of the sessions. We assess progress with your treatment goals regularly to evaluate if the treatment is best meeting your needs. |
